Last Day to Participate: Help Shape PNG's Future in Foreign Policy Education
Today marks the final opportunity for students, academics, public servants, and private sector professionals to participate in a national survey that will inform the development of a Postgraduate Program in Foreign Policy Analysis at Divine Word University. The survey officially closes tonight at 9:00 PM, and we encourage everyone who has not yet responded to take a few minutes to contribute their views.
We extend our sincere thanks to all participants who have already completed the survey. Your insights are making a meaningful contribution to shaping a program that will reflect Papua New Guinea’s unique geopolitical, economic, and regional context. For those who are yet to take part, this is your chance to have your voice heard and help design a curriculum that prepares future leaders in diplomacy, trade, and international relations.
The proposed postgraduate program is a strategic initiative that aligns with PNG Vision 2050, which emphasizes institutional development, capacity building, and regional leadership. A locally developed and context-specific foreign policy program will ensure PNG has professionals who understand not just global trends, but also the domestic and regional factors that shape foreign policy decisions.
This research also meets a DHERST requirement for program specification, specifically the sections on market analysis, career pathways, and stakeholder input. The findings from this survey will directly shape the program’s structure, core content areas, and delivery method to ensure it is academically rigorous, professionally relevant, and nationally strategic.
Participants from four key groups are being invited to contribute:
Students studying humanities or social science programs such as political science, international relations, journalism, or related fields
Academics and researchers in international affairs or policy studies
Public servants involved in foreign policy, diplomacy, trade, and security
Private sector professionals engaged in regional trade, investment, or international business
If you belong to one of these groups and have not yet taken the survey, we strongly urge you to do so today. Your experience and opinion are essential to designing a program that will serve PNG’s national interest and provide new opportunities for advanced study in foreign policy.
